ROUTES

We have FOUR GREAT ROUTES TO CHOOSE FROM (101, 66, 34 and 18 miles)!  All start and finish in beautiful downtown Vancouver (behind BCC's shop at 1604 Main Street) and deliver the best of Clark County scenery and cycling roads. There's nothing like the northern roads and we promise to bring this pinnacle of local road cycling back in coming editions!  Head to the ROUTES page or click the links below for maps.  Paper maps and cue sheets will be available at the start.

                    "The Century Plus"

CENTURY 104.2 miles, 5562 ft.

·         Start time 6-8am

·         Rest stops:  New Heights Church (27), Grist Mill (45), New Heights Church (65), Lacamas (88), BCC (start/finish)

·         PINK road marking

Century:  Want more miles and more climbing?  Ride our new century on country roads enjoying dappled shade, fun rollers, and open fields. Accompany the metric riders to the Battle Ground rest stop, then head north towards La Center and through View, WA aptly named for the breathtaking landscapes that unfold as you climb. Soon, Mt. St. Helens rises in the distance, a majestic reminder of the region's volcanic power. A welcome pitstop at the historic Grist Mill offers restrooms and a chance to refuel before tackling the next leg.  Clark County's charming covered bridge serves as a picturesque gateway to the ascent up Goodnight Road. Don't let the name fool you - this climb will test your limits, but the sense of accomplishment at the summit is unparalleled.  From here, the reward awaits. Let gravity do the work as you savor a miles-long descent, the stunning scenery washing over you with each pedal stroke. Roll back into Battle Ground for a well-deserved rest stop before continuing your journey south towards Lacamas Lake and on to the finish line where you swap stories with your buddies over sandwiches and beverages you earned!" (5571’ elevation)

Metric: Explore the countryside on this new route, riding leg-stretcher straights, fun rollers, and new hills out east.  If you’re lucky, you might see the emus, albino deer and The Funny Farm.  Photo ops! Have you ever signed up for a metric and decided en route that you really wanted a century?  The metric and century cross paths several times, sharing rest stops (Battle Ground, mile 26; Hockinson, mile 34; Lacamas, mile 51), so make OUR ride YOUR ride and download both routes just in case!                     "The Town and Country"

TOWN AND COUNTRY 34.1 miles, 648 ft.

·         Rest stop: Bike Clark County (18.1)
·         WHITE road marking for the first half

·         YELLOW road marking after the rest stop

How to ride the Town and Country?  First, ride the River Run (COUNTRY miles).  Return to the start/finish (mile 18.1) for a little donut break. Then it’s back in the saddle singing Auld Lang Syne as you ride streets that local bike commuters dub “the Scottish Highway” (McLoughlin, MacArthur, McGillivray).  Circle back to a fun descent on Blandford and an uphill to Evergreen pedaling through historic Fort Vancouver to finish.  The TOWN miles (16) add distance with only one hill and lots of straight segments offering plenty of leg-stretcher opportunities on this ride through south Vancouver. (648’ total elevation)
