DESCRIPTION

Springwater multi-use paved nature trail from Sellwood Riverfront Park to Boring Oregon. An out-and-back Rails to Trails ride. Very flat (consistently less than 1% grade for a majority of the ride).

I'm stopping at CARTLANDIA FOOD CARTS on the return trip for a shawarma mmmm my favorite!!

PUBLISHED PACE

All registered riders are welcome to join and may depart at any time to ride their own pace and distance; please let the ride leader know before you leave the group. We will ride at the slowest rider's pace (within the pace parameters noted above). 

REGISTRATION

Registration is required and almost always free to both members and non-members. Please scroll to the bottom of this page to register for this event.

CANCELATIONS/CHANGES

I cancel if temps drop below 32°F or if there are extremely heavy rains or sideways weather (super windy). I'll note any ride changes to start time, location start, or complete cancelations at least 2 hours prior to the ride start; I'll post red text at the top of this ride information page.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE START:
Set your navigation to Oaks Amusement Park.
I-5 South: Once over the Sellwood Bridge, left on SE 6th, Left on SE Spokane Street, down the hill towards the river and over the railroad tracks (CAUTION: WATCH FOR BICYCLISTS AND PEDESTRIANS before and as you cross the trail at the railroad tracks). Take an immediate right onto Oaks Park Way and the parking lot will be the first one on your left.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION DIRECTIONS:
Take the MAX train to SE Tacoma Park & Ride and bike 1.5 miles to the start.
TRIMET TRIP PLANNER - $2.50 for one way trip $5.00 for a day pass
- MAX from the EXPO (if biking) departs at ____ am
- MAX from Delta Park (if parking and riding) departs at ____ am
- The YELLOW line will become the ORANGE line downtown Portland; stay on the train...
- Hop off at the Tacoma/Johnson Creek stop and bike about 1.5 miles to the ride start.

  • Please complete an ABC Quick Check prior to arriving at the start (air, brakes, chain and crank; quick releases and a short ride to make sure all is working properly). And an ABC Quick Check once again at the start.
