Information on the Annual Blue Mountain Century Scenic Bikeway Ride
September 16th and 17th, 2023
This ride is a “supported” ride; the local bikeways committee wants to make sure that you have a great experience in our community, so we will be doing what we can to make it so! We will be arranging for meals and water stops; arrange for community volunteers to deliver your needed items from one location to another and will provide a SAG Wagon to support you along the route all weekend!
We will be starting the official ride in Ukiah, so the “caravan from Heppner” will leave around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, 9/16 and the ride will have everyone staying overnight in Heppner with a great BBQ meal! Sunday morning, 9/17, the ride will begin in Heppner and end in Ukiah.
Change in transportation for the ride: For those of you who have participated in the annual ride every year, due to changes out of our control, there will no longer be a shuttle bus and trailer to transport everyone leaving from Heppner to Ukiah to start the ride. All riders from Heppner will be participating in a caravan to Ukiah and we will join those meeting us in Ukiah to start the ride. If you can carpool together and share the ride that would be great!
Meal Arrangements: We will provide a list of the restaurants that are open for Dinner on Friday night, Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday for those who will be staying in Heppner; lunches will be ordered for Saturday and will be taken to the Vinson area where the lunch and water and rest stop will be. A chicken and rib BBQ dinner will be provided in Heppner for Saturday night, starting at 6:00 p.m.
