In my earlier email I noted 50th Ave between 179th St and 159th St is closed. I forgot to mention that 29th Ave between 194th St and 179th St is also closed.
So any routes coming South from Ridgefield or Battle Ground to Salmon Creek are limited. Riding 179th or 199th Streets between 29th Ave and 50th Ave is not recommended.
Here are my recommended options to avoid the closures
Coming from the Ridgefield area (via 239th St) such as the various Newliner routes.
* Take 29th across 500 (rather than turning at 239th St) and turn right on 194th Street to 10th Ave, turn left and take 10th Ave to 15th Ave/Union Rd/20th Ave (via a right on 179th then a left on 15th Ave). From Ridgefield to Salmon Creek via 29th/10th/15th * Ride with GPS<https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54215856>.
Coming from Battle Ground (via Onsdorff or 142nd Ave) you have a couple of options.
1. Continue straight on 142nd Ave onto Grace and go through town. Turn right at Rasmussen, then left on Parkway, then right on Scotton, left on 9th, right on Eaton then left to pick up the multiuse trail along 503 to 189th and Meadow Glade - then finish via the "Friday" route. Battle Ground to Salmon Creek Via Grace Ave * Ride with GPS<https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54215974>
2. Take 239th and turn left on 29th Ave, right on 194th Ave (watch out for the really bad rumble strips at 199th and 29th), left on 10th Ave and finish via 15th Ave/Union/20th Ave Battle Ground to Salmon Creek via 10th Ave * Ride with GPS<https://ridewithgps.com/routes/54216013>
If you are a ride leader and need a route modified to adjust for the construction, please let me know.
