Hello VBC Members,
Ready for a ride that will take your breath away? This Saturday, join us for a stunning out-and-back along the scenic Kalama River. It's a route one of our members called "Epic" and another ranked among their top 5 club rides, and for good reason!
We'll follow the lightly traveled Kalama River Road through a breathtaking valley, with beautiful scenery making every pedal stroke worthwhile. The route features plenty of ups and downs as it gradually climbs toward our turnaround point. The starting point of the ride is only 30 minutes north of Vancouver just off I-5.
Route Details:
- Base Route: 32.5 miles at the ride leader's pace (about 14 mph on flats and slower on hills).
- The Challenge: About 2.7 miles before the turnaround, you'll tackle the route's main challenge—a steep 0.7-mile climb. Since it's an out-and-back, you'll get to conquer it again on the way home!
- Your Pace, Your Ride: You control your distance! If you prefer a gentler ride, you can turn around before the big climb.
Ride Style:
This is a non-group, go-your-own-pace adventure. While we'll regroup at hilltops and scenic spots for those staying with the main group, faster and slower riders are welcome to set their own rhythm.

See you on Saturday!
