Hello VBC - Some of you may have seen the post last week on the buddies list about an accident that happened the morning of July 4th in Ridgefield between a cyclist and a vehicle. A longtime resident of Clark County, friend to many in the cycling community and a very experienced, talented rider, Ken O’day was on a small group ride that morning, when he was struck from behind by a car and suffered critical injuries. He is currently still in ICU and has a long road to recovery. Dialed Cycling has set up a gofund.me campaign to help support Ken’s family as they incur medical costs as well as loss of income. His family would also like to use this campaign as a way to raise awareness about the importance of helping make safer roads for all cyclists however that can be done. This happened in an instant and as cyclists, all of us are vulnerable on the road.
