Hi Buds,
The city has a survey open for 112th Ave because they realize it needs more than just repaving. Find and take the survey today to support safer conditions for people walking, biking, or getting to their bus stop!

This issue is also on the agenda for the city's Transportation and Mobility Commission Tuesday, 9/5. People can attend the actual meeting (@ city hall) or the Zoom and see the presentation pdfs here: https://www.cityofvancouver.us/tmc/page/transportation-and-mobility-commission-meeting-august-1-2023 (Note: this is a 4-hour meeting with Main St first and 112th Ave second on the agenda.)
Lots of crashes on 112th Ave.
Bike lanes disappear.
Sidewalks have 90-degree turns, so riding on the sidewalk when the bike lane ends is awkward.
Detractors will suggest there's got to be another street bikers can use - we hear this on EVERY project.
Well, in this case, the closest somewhat safe through-streets that run parallel to 112th Ave are both about a mile away from it: 97th Ave to the west and 136th Ave to the east.
There are other parallel streets, but they are small, you can't cross the big streets easily (Mill Plain, 18th, and 28th), and none of them run straight through - lots of deadends, zig-zags, etc.
Thanks,
Jan
