Summer bike racing at Portland International Raceway - let's go watch - and of course, you gotta ride your bike to a bike race - duh! It's easy.
START @ Bike Clark County, 1604 Main St, Vancouver – Meet in the parking lot behind the shop. We will ride over the I-5 bridge to Rose City and back! Expo Center - we'll make a brief stop here to make sure everyone knows how to buy a ticket and board the MAX with your bike (we won't actually do it) PIR - it's free and fun. The races run 6-9, but I'm thinking we'll watch for 20-30 minutes to give everyone a taste and then pedal back home. We'll catch the Columbia Slough Trail to Delta Park and back to Vancouver. Want to stay longer? Sure! You know the way or you can click this ROUTE LINK for the map/cue.
Bring a bike in good working order (pump those tires), wear your helmet (REQUIRED), and tuck in some water, and a tube that fits your wheel. Front and rear lights are always a good idea. Have questions? Bring those, too! REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Contact me if you have any difficulty. Our registration collects your waiver signature AND emergency contact information. Important!
Notes:
Please arrive 15 minutes early to be a part of the announcements and safety briefing. Riders are expected to have read the Safe Riding Policy and be familiar with the Ride Style Definitions. Please direct questions to the ride leader or Road Captain. Helmets are required. Lights (front and rear), RoadIDs and cell phones are recommended.
Remember - we want to be awesome representatives for cycling and spread a love for our great sport locally by obeying all traffic laws and riding in a safe and courteous manner. Ride safely and have fun!
