First ever VBC Gravel ride on Larch Mountain (WA side).

There will be two options to join the ride:
1. Meet at the Hockinson Meadows Community Park at 9:00am and start the ride with climbing up on Powell/Rawson Rd to the intersection where the gravel section starts (Larch Correctional Facility arrow sign)
2. Meet at the intersection up on the mountain at 10:00am. If you have a Discovery Pass and don't want to start the ride with a long climb, you can park you car nearby or you want to climb on your own pace with different starting time or from a different starting point

We'll be starting the gravel section very close to 10:00AM (barring any mechanical during the Rawson Rd climb)

The pace is going to be slower than the average road ride but it will be a training ride, for the climbs I would like to average between 3.5-4.0 w/kg. If you would like go faster and capture KOMs, please don't hold back and go for them. I'll be trying to keep a steady climbing pace and be in that target w/kg range.

Larch Gravel - A bike ride in Clark County, WA (ridewithgps.com)

Gravel bikes are highly recommended with sufficiently wide tires, there are chunky gravel sections where you might need 40+ tires. Tubeless tires are also highly recommended to avoid pinch flats and to get some comfort during ride with lower tire pressure.
