I am writing to share the sad news that our friend and fellow VBC member, Bill Woodard, died last Tuesday in a bicycle accident in St. George, Utah. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, enthusiastic bicyclist and dedicated humanitarian. He was a long time ambassador for ShelterBox, an organization that provides shelter to people affected by natural disasters and conflict. The accident was caused by a piece of metal getting lodged in the spokes of his front wheel, causing him to be thrown from the bike.
A service for Bill will be held today, Thursday, from 1PM-3PM in McMinnville, OR at the Macy and Son funeral home. I plan to attend and will leave around 11 AM and invite anyone who wants to attend to ride along with me.
I am sorry for this late notice but I just found out about this tragic incident this yesterday afternoon. I sent out a previous email to the buddies list but it did not go to the correct address.
