Mini-Quake Ride
Author Last Post

Join Us for the Mini-Quake Ride this Wednesday, March 24, at 10 AM:

Join us for this classic ride. It starts and finishes at River Maiden Coffee Shop (5301 E. Mill Plain Blvd) at 10 AM this coming Wednesday.

Ride Description:  The ride is 22 miles.  It has some climbs but only climb 980 feet for whole ride.  After leaving River Maiden, we ride through Vancouver and then head north to the Salmon Creek greenbelt.  After riding the pedestrian/bike trail in the greenbelt, we return to River Maiden by going back to Vancouver and then east to River Maiden via McLoughlin.  For those who can attend, after the ride we’ll meet for coffee and socializing at River Maiden.

Pace and Regroups:  The pace is 12 – 14 mph with regroups as needed. There’s also a planned rest-stop/regroup at the restroom facilities adjacent to the softball field at the east end of the Salmon Creek Trail, about at the ride’s midpoint.

Registration Required:  To join us for the ride, you must register for it.  This is easily done by going to the Club’s website (www.vbc-usa.com) and accessing the calendar.  The ride is posted on the calendar as “Mini-Quake – RL Les Mischke.” On the calendar, click on the ride and you will be taken to a page that gives a more complete description of the ride and has a button called “register now.”  Just click on that button and you’ll be taken to the registration page, where you can register for the ride.  The process is easy and there is no fee for the ride.

Non VBC Members Welcome:  Non VBC members are welcome on the ride and you are encouraged to invite them.  There’s for no fee for them, but they must register for the ride. The registration process for a non-member is the same as it is for a member.  Just follow the procedures outlined in the preceding paragraph.

Cancellation Policy:  The ride will be cancelled if the weather is bad (rain, temperature < 40F, lightening, or wind > 25mph).  If the ride is cancelled, I’ll notify the registrants.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  My cell phone is 360-624-3949.

See you Wednesday.
