Klickitat River - Goldendale Loop

This is a loop with a 20 mile gradual climb along the Klickitat River and then a 4-5 mile steeper climb to the farm land around Goldendale, WA.  There is a store in Klickitat and in Goldendale to purchase supplies, if needed.  There are no services in the last half of the ride.  It ends with rollers and then a sweet, steep, curving descent back into Lyle.  This is a road bike ride; not a mountain bike ride on the adjacent trail.  I have done this ride before and like it a lot.

Here is a route map:

Length 66 miles.

To carpool, meet at 8 am a the Mill Plain Fred Meyer, southeast corner of the parking lot.  Or meet at the Lyle trailhead, just after crossing the Klickitat River as you enter Lyle.  If you drive the Oregon route, there is a toll on the bridge to cross from Hood River to Washington.  There is a parking area at the end of the trail.

Here are driving directions from Fred Meyer to the start.
