Hi Buddies,
First - Mark is raising $ to provide a leader dog to someone who needs
it. One of my best friends in college had a leader dog. Pooch. I
loved with a capital "L" that dog. She led Christie from her
apartment across the busy street to the campus and all over campus to
each class. We shopped with the dog, went to the Big City (Dallas)
with Pooch, and had a lot of fun (college fun!). Without Pooch,
Christie's world would have been a lot smaller and a lot tougher.
Second - any donation helps, of course, but Mark's hoping for a penny
a mile. $35. I like it. Bob and I are in.
Third - I worked with several school superintendents. Good folks, but
NONE of them did ANYTHING like this. What a lesson for kids to see
your Supe on a bike, much less to follow his pedalling across the
entire USA to earn money for someone else. Now THAT'S what I call
teaching.
Way to go, Mark!

Buddies List Members,
At our recent VBC club meeting I was asked to share information about
my upcoming trans-America trip. Maria suggested that I send out the
information regarding the trip to the buddies list so more people
could learn about this effort and our fundraising goals.
Our trip website is www.CyclingForLeaderDogs.org
http://www.cyclingforleaderdogs.org/.
Also, if you are interested my wife Debbie and I recently returned
from a cycling trip to Hawaii. Our online journal for that trip can
be found at www.BigGuyonaBike.com <http://www.bigguyonabike.com/>.
Happy Cycling!
Mark
