I'm trolling for volunteers to ride as course marshals for the Lacamas Lake Half 
Marathon sponsored by Fit Right Northwest. The event is July 24, 2011 and 
volunteers hours are 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM. 


Course marshals ride either the 4 mile short course or the 13 mile long course 
in pace and sweep positions. We also ride among the walkers and runners to 
provide aid and communications in case of trouble on the route. 


I am looking for 8 - 10 volunteers for riding positions. If there is interest 
for two or more non-rider positions, we have an opportunity to man a booth to 
promote the VBC.  


Compensation for the volunteers is not yet fixed but historically has been an 
event t-shirt (sometimes cotton - sometimes technical), occasionally hats, and a 
free entry to the event for a spouse or significant other.

Course marshals ride 100% on the road (riders DO NOT ride the trail around 
Lacamas Lake) with the exception of Ed Fisher of Camas Bike and Sport. Feel free 
to bring your road bike or mountain bike - either works fine. Pace for the 
walking event is no more than 4.5 mph and 12 mph for the runners. 


If you are interested, please email me or call me. SPECIAL NOTE: This event 
conflicts with the final day of RAO. If you are planning on going out to Hood 
River to welcome in the racers (yea teams: Scott/Suzie/Tom/Sally, 
Dennis/Cory/Jim/Allen, Lap/Donna and Rebecca) we will be finished with our 
course marshal duties by 11:00AM with plenty of time to get to Hood River for 
finish line festivities.
