If you don't want to or can't ride with Jon you have a choice.

A good option for riding Saturday is the Discovery Walk Festival bike event.  Begin riding any time between 9:00 a.m. and Noon from Hudson's Bay High School (between Mill Plain and McLoughlin east of Fort Vancouver Way) .  Maps and cue sheets for the route will provided.  There is NO registration fee this year for the 15th Annual Discovery Walk Festival .

There are two checkpoints (rest stops), one at Vancouver Lake Park (Eagle South picnic shelter) and one at the end of Lower River Road.  Three distance options - 10 miles, 15 miles, and 30 miles to choose from.  The mostly flat routes and distances are suitable for families.  The start and the checkpoints are staffed with VBC volunteers - come say hi to them.

More information about this ride is in the April Wheel Truth and today's Columbian newspaper.

Anyone know of a ride tomorrow? Weather should be wonderful. If not I'd be happy to take a group up to Crown Point and back starting at the I-205 bike path, regroup at beginning of Marine Drive and at the park before heading up, same regroup idea for way back. Please note,  I am not anywhere near my racing form so I haven't had many rides over 30 miles, just don't want to ride alone. Please email me if interested and we can set a time.

"I came out for exercise, gentle exercise, and to notice the scenery and to botanise.  And no sooner do I get on that accursed machine than off I go hammer and tongs; I never look to right or left, never notice a flower, never see a view - get hot, juicy, red - like a grilled chop.  Get me on that machine and I have to go.  I go scorching along the road, and cursing aloud at myself for doing it."  ~H.G. Wells, The Wheels of Chance
