Rambling Roads

RAMBLIN’ ROADS    by Road Capt. Billy                       February 2013

Subject:  2013 Ride Leader Incentive Awards Program

Our Ride Leader Incentive Awards Program was sweetened with a few changes for 2013.  I’ll try to summarize this next year’s program and hope this will energize a number of YOU (YES, I'm talking to YOU) to become approved ride leaders, and begin leading rides.

Chit Program for 2013
Your name goes into the monthly drawing as many times as you led rides or volunteered.
Two chits will be drawn per month.
You can win only once per month; and only twice per year.
Winners get $20 cash to be used anywhere.

Continuing Awards for 2013
A pair of VBC socks awarded to each "newbie" first-time ride leader.
A pair of VBC socks for all ride leaders leading one or more ride in 2013.
Lead 7 rides or volunteer 7 (or more) times, get your choice of a club jersey or $50 cash.

New Award for 2013: "Meet or Beat 20"
If you lead 20 or more rides / or volunteer 20 or more times per year,
You earn $50 cash on top of the normal $50/jersey choice earned for 7 times.

Rides on the Calendar and Impromptu Rides Redefined
Put a ride on the calendar, turn in your ride sheet and you will earn a ride leader credit.
Put an impromptu on the Buddies List 24 hours or more in advance of the ride start, turn in the ride sheet and you will earn a ride credit.

 Note:

To earn a credit you must turn in the ride sheet or a volunteer sheet, even if cancelled due to  weather. Just write “Cancelled” on the sheet.  If you don’t turn in a sheet, the Assistant Road Captain assumes there was no ride, and you won’t get credit. This is not a change, just a reminder.  No sheet, no credit.

Wanna be a ride leader?

Get together with Capt. Billy for a short “orientation” session covering procedures, responsibilities, expectations, using the website for entering rides, etc.   You’ll be all set.
